PA FedEx driver shoots suspect during robbery

PHILADELPHIA (CNN) — Philadelphia authorities say a FedEx driver shot and killed someone during a would-be robbery Tuesday night. It happened in the city's Lawndale neighborhood just after 7 p.m. The driver told police he'd just dropped off a package when he encountered the armed robber. State College parking garage will remain open despite damage to 'structural beam'

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — One day after a crack was spotted in a structural beam, the McAllister Parking Deck in downtown State College remains open. Officials say the parking garage is 33 years old, but after securing the cracked beam, borough engineers say they can do the repair work without closing the entire deck. The McAllister deck has 230 parking spaces, and close to 40 of them are temporarily closed while the situation is assessed, and permanent repairs are made. Read More...

Three injured, including two police officers, in Somerset Borough house fire

SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — 911 officials in Somerset County say three people were injured, including two police officers, after flames broke out at a residence Tuesday afternoon. Emergency officials say crews were called to the home, located along the 400 block of Clark Street, in Somerset Borough, around 1:30 p.m. Authorities say the two officers were treated at UPMC Somerset for smoke inhalation. Officials say a third individual was also transported to UPMC Somerset with unknown injuries. Read More...
