WASHINGTON (TND) — White House Press SecretaryKarine Jean-Pierre said the Biden administration has had a plan to address the issues at the border since the first day President Joe Biden took office, including things like a path to citizenship for migrants. The U.S. Citizenship Act of 2021 included things like allowing undocumented immigrants to apply for temporary legal status, with the ability to apply for green cards after five years if they pass background checks and pay their taxes, as well as giving funding to update technology and infrastructure at the border for screening and identifying drugs and contraband. Pittsburgh (WJAC) — With less than an hour to go before the 2023 MLB trade deadline, multiple reports indicate that the Pittsburgh Pirates are trading veteran catcher Austin Hedges to the Texas Rangers. Hedges signed a one-year deal with the Pirates in the offseason. He has played in 65 games this year for Pittsburgh, recording 29 hits, one homerun and 14 RBIs, along with a batting average of .180.
