No one injured following house fire in Friedens

SOMERSET CO, Pa (WJAC) — According to officials with the Friedens Fire Department, no one was injured following a house fire Saturday afternoon along Meadow Street. 911 officials say the fire broke out just before 2:30 p.m. at a single-story residence along the 100 block of Meadow Street. Crews from Friedens, Listie, Stoystown, Somerset and Sipesville fire departments were all on scene to assist. PSP IDs suspect who shot, wounded trooper in Northumberland County

2nd UPDATE |State police have released the identity of the suspect who shot and wounded a Pennsylvania State Trooper Wednesday morning in Northumberland County. Police say charges have been filed against 19-year-old Hunter Shaheen, who was also shot during the exchange of gunfire. Authorities say Shaheen is now listed in stable condition. The wounded trooper, whose identity is not yet known, has since been released from the hospital. State police say all individuals involved in the incident have been placed on administrative leave pending the investigation. Read More...

Steelers signing Australian punter Cameron Johnston

PITTSBURGH (WJAC) — According to multiple reports, the Pittsburgh Steelers are signing Australian punter Cameron Johnston. The 32-year-old spent three seasons each with the Philadelphia Eagles and the Houston Texans. According to Pittsburgh Steelers ESPN Insider Brooke Pryor, Johnston was near the top of the league last season in net average, averaging 47.7 yards per punt. Johnston played collegiately at Ohio State. Pittsburgh released its former punter, Pressley Harvin III, last month. Read More...
