OAKLAND, Calif. (TND) — Safeway has removed self-checkout machines at several stores in the San Francisco Bay Area following a rise in theft, according to KRON.
The supermarket chain is reportedly removing the machines to crack down on shoplifting.

Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — The estate representing the family of Blair County Corrections Officer Rhonda Russell has filed a wrongful death lawsuit, on their behalf, against Blair County and several officials, including the estate of the officer who pulled the trigger in the fatal shooting.

Teacher shortages are affecting schools across Pennsylvania, and local districts said there is a continuing struggle to fill some positions.
