Local businesses come together to celebrate "Wheels & Wings" despite cancellation

EBENSBURG, Pa. (WJAC) — Despite the Ebensburg “Wheels N’ Wings” event being canceled, local businesses are coming together to put on “Wing Walk.” Dozens of people are used to coming to Ebensburg in June to enjoy wings, beer and motorcycles during the annual “Wheels N’ Wing.” After it was announced the event would be canceled because of coronavirus concerns, local businesses came up with an idea. “It means a lot to our community, just like Thunder does to Johnstown. Lone eaglet spotted flying with parents after falling from PA bald eagle's nest

HANOVER, Pa. (WJAC) — The lone eaglet to a pair of Pennsylvania Bald Eagles left the nest over Memorial Day weekend and has since been spotted flying with its parents, according to Raptor Ecology Specialist Zoey Greenburg. The Pennsylvania Game Commission has been partnering with HDOnTAP and Comcast Business to offer a live look at the Hanover eagles' nest in York County. Greenburg says the eaglet fell from the tree Sunday afternoon, but ground viewers spotted the young raptor alive and well on a lower branch nearby. Read More...

one man dead after vehicle accident in Lycoming County

A Montoursville man is dead after his truck struck a tree after driving through a drainage ditch in Muncy Township Saturday afternoon, state police said. According to a press release, William Messersmith, 87, was traveling southbound on US 220 when he exited the northern portion of the roadway and began traveling along a drainage ditch just after 12 p.m. State police said Messersmith crossed over a driveway on the 2000 block of US 220 before continuing along the drainage ditch.
