DuBois city council votes to terminate police chief

CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Two employees in the city of DuBois were terminated at Monday night’s city council meeting. Former city manager Herm Suplizio and suspended police chief Blaine Clark were both officially terminated and are no longer city employees as of Monday. Council voted 3 to 2 in favor of terminating both Suplizio and Clark. Suplizio's firing comes after facing multiple charges related to the alleged embezzlement of over half-a-million dollars from the city of DuBois. Read More...

Man steals cars, catalytic converters from police confiscation lot, authorities say

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WTVC) — A chain link fence with barbed wire on top, surveillance cameras and an alarm system were apparently not enough to stop a man fromburglarizing more than 100 vehicles in the Chattanooga Police Confiscation Lot, police in Tennessee said. An arrest report said James Allen Turpin is accused of stealing a car, a golf cart and 56 catalytic converters over a period of several days. Authorities arrested Turpin on Sunday. Read More...

Pennsylvania Game Commission bands falcon nestlings

HARRISBURG, PA. (WOLF) — The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is hosting the Pennsylvania Game Commission’s (PGC) banding of the 2024 Rachel Carson State Office Building peregrine falcon nestlings. Patti Barber, Endangered Bird Specialist with PGC, will lead the team in bringing the nestlings in from the 15th floor ledge. Barber will weigh them, inspect their health, and put light metal bands around their legs for identification. This year there are five nestlings that will be banded. Read More...
