Lawmakers celebrate passage of legislation allowing whole milk to return to school menus

Some lawmakers in Washington are touting a bill that would see whole milk and flavors added back to menus in schools. House Resolution 1147, also known as the "Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act,” passed the House this week with bipartisan support. The legislation was introduced by local representative Glenn "GT" Thompson. New bear check station in Falls Creek sees over 100 bears

FALLS CREEK - Year after year, many dedicated hunters go after one of the largest game animals in the state, the black bear. Since opening day on Saturday, a new bear check station has been in operation at the fire department in Falls Creek. As of Wednesday afternoon, 101 bears has been checked in. Bears killed in Clarion, Jefferson, Clearfield, Elk and Armstrong counties are brought to Falls Creek. The Pennsylvania Game Commission said as of Tuesday, 2,308 bears were harvested statewide. Pirates trade veteran 1B Carlos Santana to Milwaukee

Pittsburgh (WJAC) — The Pittsburgh Pirates have reportedly traded first baseman Carlos Santana to the Milwaukee Brewers. According to Pirates' beat writer Jason Mackey, Pittsburgh will receive shortstop prospect Jhonny Severino in return. Santana, a 37-year-old veteran, appeared in 94 games this season for Pittsburgh while recording a .235 batting average with 12 homeruns and 53 RBIs. He signed a 1-year deal with Pittsburgh back in November. Santana is playing in his 14th major league season, having previously played for Cleveland, Philadelphia, Kansas City and Seattle.
